This is particularly useful with deadlifts, where the band and bar sit close together. At just 12 inches long, these bands make it far easier to get equal tension on both sides without doubling or tripling up over pins or band pegs. CERBERUS Short Bands are also thicker than most bands on the market at 5mm, giving you more durability and extra tension where it counts.

Sold as a Single Unit

Seamless Latex Loop Construction

305mm (12") Length, 5mm Thickness

12 Month Warranty

For Strength Training and Powerlifting

Using bands for strength training lets you work through your normal range of movement, unlike blocks and pins. CERBERUS Power Resistance Bands are fantastic for keeping your groove and building strength and power in the positions that are lagging. Training with a restricted range of movement can sometimes change your form, technique or the muscles you're using, improving strength in that one position without it carrying over to the actual lift.

There are two common ways to use them for strength training: Against Bands (adding tension to the bar) or Reverse Bands (taking tension and weight off the bar).

Reverse Bands

This method lets you lift more weight and work with higher loads, giving you the psychological benefit of "feeling the weight" in your hands or on your back. The bands work with your body's biomechanics: as you reach the bottom of the movement (or start there in deadlifts) the bands stretch and take on more tension, carrying some of the load. As you push, press or pull back up, tension on the band eases off and you take on more of the weight. This is great for overloading the ascending strength curve, the point where the lift feels easier, so you can handle more weight and significantly strengthen the muscles needed for lockout.

Against Bands

This method works on almost the same principle in reverse. Here, the bands stretch and add tension at the top of the movement, again overloading the ascending strength curve where you're at your strongest. Lifting against bands reduces the load at the start of the lift, which means less force needed to overcome gravity and less inertia to accelerate against. That lets you accelerate quickly, reach a faster speed mid-lift, and keep accelerating for longer as the bands add resistance through the movement. Moving faster for longer tends to build greater gains in high-velocity strength.

Mobility, Rehabilitation and Strengthening

The exercises you can do with a band like this are endless. Use it as a dynamic warm-up tool, focusing on the muscles and joints you'll use in your main workout, warming them up and lubricating the joints. Bands also help activate the right muscles before your main lift and can increase your range of movement. The band's natural vibration activates muscles, and adding isometric tension to your warm-up helps with activation and stability.
