Chloe’s GymBum Kitchen: Breakfasts to Power Your Morning Workouts

Hi everyone, Chloe here 👋

If there’s one meal that can make or break your training day, it’s breakfast. A good start gives you the energy to push harder, recover faster, and stay focused whether you’re in the gym or on the go.

I don’t believe in complicated meal plans — just simple, tasty food that fuels results. Here are three of my favourite go-to GymBum breakfasts that keep me energised without slowing me down.

🥣 Protein-Packed Overnight Oats

Why I love it: No stress in the morning — just grab and go. It’s filling, balanced, and perfect before a morning session.

Ingredients (serves 1):

  • 40g rolled oats
  • 150ml skimmed or plant milk
  • 100g fat-free Greek yogurt
  • 1 scoop vanilla whey protein
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • Handful of berries

Method:

  1. Mix oats, milk, yogurt, protein powder, and chia seeds in a jar.
  2. Refrigerate overnight.
  3. Top with berries in the morning.

Macros: ~30g protein, 40g carbs, 8g fat

🍓 Greek Yogurt Parfait with Granola

Why I love it: Light, refreshing, and feels like a treat — but still packed with protein.

Ingredients (serves 1):

  • 200g fat-free Greek yogurt
  • 25g granola
  • 1 scoop whey protein (strawberry works great!)
  • Fresh fruit: blueberries, raspberries, or sliced banana

Method:

  1. Stir protein powder into yogurt until smooth.
  2. Layer yogurt, granola, and fruit in a bowl or jar.
  3. Enjoy straight away.

Macros: ~28g protein, 35g carbs, 6g fat

🍌 Peanut Butter Banana Protein Shake

Why I love it: Perfect for busy mornings — quick, tasty, and keeps me full until lunch.

Ingredients (serves 1):

  • 1 medium banana
  • 250ml skimmed or plant milk
  • 1 scoop chocolate or vanilla whey protein
  • 1 tbsp natural peanut butter
  • Ice cubes

Method:

  1. Blend all ingredients until smooth.
  2. Pour into a shaker or bottle — done!

Macros: ~32g protein, 38g carbs, 12g fat

Final Thoughts

Breakfast doesn’t need to be fancy — just balanced. A mix of protein, carbs, and healthy fats sets you up for the day and fuels your workouts. Try one of these this week, and let me know which one becomes your favourite!
