Our founder, Derek Murray, has spent years working in residential childcare and social services, supporting young people through some of life’s toughest challenges. It’s work that teaches resilience, patience, and perspective — the same traits that shaped GymBum’s mindset from day one.
The idea started simple:
“What if there was a brand that represented everyday people chasing progress — not perfection — and reminded them to keep going?”
From that spark came GymBum UK — a Scottish-born fitness and lifestyle brand built around real stories, real effort, and real community.
